‘Holding it Together’ in Oxford

November 28, 2010

Lucy and Edward’s peformance event, Holding it Together, went very well with the audience enjoying its sense of story, its style and shape. Ed and Lucy, and the other performers – Dotty, Julian and I – all had the sense that the piece had a feeling of coming together – Dotty suggested complicite and I’d agree.

The performance was a successful addition to the whole event. Called Night and Day, a performance weekend, curated by Emily Smith and Paul Luckraft, was a festival gathering with a strong and diverse collection of elements including subtle and elegant film (Jayne Parker), incisive lecture-visual display (Fabienne Audeoud), subtle solo performance (Eunhye Hwang and Brian Catling) and an uproarious montage of live drumming, dance, political satire and self-flagellation (devised by Oreet Ashery).

Great to be part of!
